Daniel pulled off the perfect surprise proposal for Sam. For weeks he said he had a work Christmas party on 12/9. He even said he was scoping out venues with his leadership team for the party and landed on the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. Daniel picked the perfect fake event for the proposal because he knew Sam likes to look her best. He even got coworkers involved to ask her what she was wearing to the work Christmas party. Before leaving to go to the Arboretum Sam told Daniel, "Too bad you aren't proposing tonight, I look great!" She had no idea what would unfold in the next hour! While walking around the botanical gardens trying to find the work event, they came up to an area that was secluded. Daniel said, "let's stop here for a minute". Sam turned and saw the Veuve Clicquot on the bench and before she had time to process Daniel said, "Here's the first step to the rest of our lives." They walked up the steps and Daniel began the sweetest speech he tried to remember from his Notes app. Sam said Yes, of course, and now here we are! After the proposal, Daniel took Sam to a restaurant nearby and surprised her with flying in her family to celebrate. The Borella and Hayes family got to celebrate together and it couldn't have been a more perfect way to celebrate the start of this next chapter!
